Her fear came true when Gin accidentally touches a human boy while trying to protect him from falling. Hotaru felt her heart sink, as somehow she had a hunch that this might be their last meet. Then he gives his mask to Hotaru and asks her to keep it with her forever. While they were walking together away from the crowd, Gin confesses that he no longer can wait for the next summer to come and that he wants to be with Hotaru every time. They both had a great time together at the festival, checking every stall and laughing out loud watching all those amusements around them. In this festival, spirits disguise themselves as humans and also it is said that sometimes humans also sneak in. Gin invites Hotaru for a summer festival in the forest, hosted by spirits. This another scene in the movie between Hotaru and Gin moves us so deeply, that even we wish and pray to god that their friendship should continue just like the flow of a river. That is when Gin tells Hotaru of who he is and how he came to that forest. During their casual conversation, she informs him of her thought of getting a job here once she graduates so that she could be more with Gin. Hotaru reaches High School, and during her summer vacation, off she goes to meet Gin. This makes Hotaru somewhat worry that one day she gets older than Gin.Īs the time passes by they both began to struggle with their budding romance and their uncertain future and Gin wishes if he could touch and hold Hotaru. “Something which disappears after touching. Though it is the forest where no one dares to visit, Hotaru leaves saying that she would come again with a Thank You present. This is one of the cutest scenes with the adorable conversation which I love watching again and again. Gin helps Hotaru to come out of the forest. He tells Hotaru not to touch him so she should not try to touch him and should maintain her distance. She cried for help helplessly unable to find the way out of that forest when Gin who looks like a human but not, comes to her rescue. It is said that spirits reside in that forest. She was six years old and was lost in that forest. On her way, She narrates her first meet with a mask-wearing man (His name is Gin) in the forest of mountain god And her conversation with her mother reveals that she’s been visiting his uncles since she was six years old. The movie starts with Hotaru going to her uncle’s place for her summer vacation. It is a 44-minute anime film directed by Takahiro Omori.įirst of all the animation is alluring and with pleasant music background, definitely makes one feel ecstatic at the beginning of the movie itself.
